ZaZoonie Bread

We made chocolate chip zucchini bread or zazoonie bread as Sawyer calls it! All the other times that I have made zucchini bread I've spent a good deal of time grating the zucchini and running into the issue of nearly grating my finger tips and nails in too! This time though, I used the awesome food processor that my in-laws gave me last Christmas and it went SO fast! It grated twenty five zukes in like a minute! So awesome!!

The kids all had a fun time getting to help out in the bread making process-although I felt 100 years old by the time we were done....we had a great finished product as you can see! I had to laugh at all the different renditions of the word zucchini I heard yesterday :) The kids just couldn't quite get it right! We made enough for everyone to take a mini loaf home and then some for the neighbors and of course-some for us!

The kitchen was a mess.......it was everywhere......every surface of the kitchen was either sticky, slippery, floured or grimy.....I need a maid.

While we were eating lunch yesterday the kids were listening to Bill play the drums out in the garage and little Samantha asked, "How did Mr. Bil learn how to the play the drums so well?" and I told her that it was just a gift that God gave him that he was good at. So we went around the table and I asked each of them what gift they thought that God had given them. I got the normal responses like a good artist, good at helping, good at running.....and then it was my turn and I asked the kids what they thought my special gift from God was. Samantha pipes up again and goes, "Well today God gave you the gift of talking loud.".......hmmmmm...maybe I wasn't as patient through the bread baking as I thought.....later that evening Bill, Sawyer and I were talking about it again and we asked Sawyer what he thought Daddy's gift was and he said, "Ummmm..... drinking pop and watching scary movies"....ouch....and I asked him what he thought I was good at and of course thinking in the back of my mind he'd say being a good mom or teaching or something just as lovely.....but no......apparently my gift is, "Talking on the phone.".....wonderful.
Hopefully in the years to come he'll be able to see other God given things in us besides pop drinking and chatting on the phone.
