A Day at the Zoo

Last Friday we headed out to the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo! It was a perfect day weather wise-it was over cast and not toooo hot-so the kids were in pretty good moods! We went with Arliss and her daughter Nora and Camille Gerber and her two kids . Camille has a day care in the next sub division over. Her daughter used to come to day care at my house until Camille decided to quit her job and stay home so it's been really fun having day cares in the same area and being able to take the kids out together!

All the kids trying to catch a peak at the baby monkeys.

One of the new exhibits that opened up at the Zoo is the Madagascar Exhibit. It's this REALLY cool area that you can walk through that has tons of Lemurs just running around freely-scampering from tree to tree! The kids got such a kick out of seeing them up close! I was pretty nervous one of them was going to jump and latch onto my face....but we made it out faces intact.

There is a spot that you can feed the coy fish in this huge pond. There were hundreds of coy swimming around and they would practically kill each other for a little food pellet. Sawyer and Dalton loved just dropping handfuls of food in all at once and watching them go at it!

We made a much needed stop for lunch and had PB&J's, grapes, carrots, cheese, crackers, graham cracker bites and sour gummy worms.

By the end of the day, the wagon was getting a little heavy, so the troops got together and heaved it up the hill! We had such a fun day and the kids just loved it! And of course they all fell asleep on the way home!
