We have a new addition to our game collection: Chess! (Or 'Chests' as Sawyer likes to say) This is one of Bill's favorite games as is anything that requires lots of strategizing and takes forever....anyway, he has started to teach Sawyer how to play and he LOVES it!
Sawyer soaked this game up like a sponge! He knows all the names of the pieces, how they move on the board and recognizes when one of his pieces is in danger. He doesn't quite get the hang of checkmate yet, but has mastered check pretty quickly!
I can see chess as being a game that Sawyer and Daddy play all the way until it's on the front porch of our nursing home!
Rayaln doesn't like chess.

Wow, it must have been a long game because Sawyer's hair really grew during it!! That is great that he is learning to play!! Thanks for posting the photos! I love looking at them!
Carrie, so good to see all the things you and the fam have been up to. I can't believe "Little Mercer" (as Micah calls him) is going to kindergarten this year. Big changes for Sawyer and Mommy! Love looking at the pictures of the boys. They are growing so fast. Favorite picture: the boys at bedtime snuggling in Sawyer's room. SO CUTE!!! --Julie
