A Day at the Cabin

Bill's Uncle Jeff and Aunt Lin have a wonderful cabin on the lake and are very hospitable in inviting us all up a couple times each summer to enjoy the lake and the scenery! It's always a fun time and somewhere that Sawyer will have fond memories of. The picture on the left is the three of us at the cabin in the summer of 2008 and then the one on the right is us now in 2010!

As you can imagine, Sawyer LOVES riding on the big four wheeler! Thank you Papa Steve for all the countless rides you took him on :)

Sawyer and Grandma Joan doing some weeding together!

Uncle Mike, Papa and Uncle Jeff.
Uncle Jeff and Papa were grilling (insert manly grunts) and Uncle Mike was wiping down picnic tables with soapy water (cue music for "It's a hard knock life").

Me and Grandma Joan just chillin' and chatting about how nice it would be to take a nap.

Cousin Cameron and Sawyer being buddies.

Sawyer had such a blast-jumping off the dock into the water, riding along on the floatie, building sand castles, hitch hiking rides on the four wheeler and drinking gallons of pink lemonade!

We had a great dinner that everyone contributed to: cheeseburgers with all the fixins, tofurkey dogs, veggie burgers, tossed salad, vegan pasta salad, spiced pineapple upside-down cake and caramel crunch cupcakes~ YUMMY!

Best time of the day: Eating time!

We were celebrating Grandpa Rick and Grandma Joan's 55th wedding anniversary that day, so we sat down to watch them open up their cards......and then Sawyer decided to 'read' aloud some of the cards which ended up becoming Thank You cards to himself for helping them move their dresser the day before. I hate to tell ya' Sawyer, not every occasion is about you sweetie :)

Phoebi thought she had died and gone to heaven that day-with all the attention, the lake that she would dip her toes into, random pieces of food that would get dropped off the picnic table and so much grassy area to romp around with her other canine friends-Bella and Razzy...but by the end of the day, she was pooped!

The cousins were very sweet to let Sawyer 'play' cards with them :)

Even as we were loading up the car to go home, Sawyer was trying to take advantage of every moment of the summer evening. It was such a relaxing and perfect day to spend with family, celebrating the commitment of a loving marriage*

Happy Anniversary Grandpa Rick and Grandma Joan!
What a wonderful life of love and dedication you've led, through thick and thin, no matter what. Thank you for the incredible example of a Christ honoring marriage you've left behind for the rest of us to follow! We love you both*
